You spend years in class with some of the same people. Would you say you’re close with them? Maybe a few. Most, probably not! But you’re constantly around them! Isn’t that strange? You can spend hundreds or thousands of hours around someone and NOT KNOW THEM. Getting to know someone takes more than just being near them. We even have this problem in youth group! This is why we’re starting Home Groups this Sunday. Because it’s a lot easier to get to know someone when they’re in your home (or vice versa). Church shouldn’t just be a place to hang out. It shouldn’t just be teachings either. “Church” originally meant “gathering.” It was a group of people who deeply cared and loved each other. So let’s be true to our roots. Let’s live, love, and learn together.
